I was inspired to take up power-lifting by my daughter, Cherry. We were watching the Paralympics and she asked me, ‘Can you do that, Daddy?’ and I answered, ‘I’ll give it a go,’ and the rest is history. Though I have only been competing for a short amount of time, I have achieved some amazing things. I started competing in January 2017 and in my first year I have become the ABPU Masters 2 Raw Benchpress 52kg class British Champion and Record Holder, the AWPC Masters 2 Raw Benchpress 52kg class World Champion and new world record holder, that was achieved by Novermbr 2017. In January 2018 I became the AWPC Masters 2 Raw Benchpress 56kg British and World Record holder. My aim is to represent Great Britain at the Paralympics!
I train hard, 4-5 days a week but all my spare time is spent doing my favourite job, being a father. Cherry is already taller than me! I follow an extreme high protein diet as well as high carbohydrate intake prior to my work outs. I also drink a lot of water to keep me hydrated.
