At the age of 14, my dad took me to the local athletics track where the coaches discovered my talent for sprinting. After struggling for a few years with illnesses, I finally had a breakthrough year when I won a silver medal in the English Schools Athletics Championships over 200m. Later that year, I moved to Loughborough University to study Psychology due to its renowned success with both academics and sports. I was born in Queensferry, Flintshire in North Wales. I have Cerebral Palsy and first began playing cricket for Wales, I was even in the team that beat England at Lords in 1996. In 2000 I was selected for the Great Britain Team at the Summer Paralympics, competing in the T38 sprint. I’ve competed in a number of sports, starting with cricket and then moving onto sprinting. I then represented the Great Britain Paralympics Team in Athens at the Summer Games and then represented them again in Beijing in 2008. I am originally from Tonyrefail in South Wales and have been a gymnast since the age of 6. I represented Great Britain in the Commonwealth Games in 2010, 2014 and Team Wales at the Commonwealth Games in 2018 and I am captain of the Welsh Gymnastics Squad. I represented Scotland at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014, where I am originally from. Now I train in Birmingham but love returning home to visit friends and family and get back to my roots. I Also placed 2nd in the British Championship and the World Trials in 2017 and I was the Scottish Indoor and Outdoor High Jump Champion of 2017.
