I found my love for athletics when I took part in Wolverhampton Regional Schools cross country Championships in Year 6, where I won it and then got scouted to join my local club, Wolverhampton & Bilston AC. At first I enjoyed doing cross country and 800m. Later, I got approached by a coach from Birchfield Harriers, so I went down to the club for some training sessions and I eventually ended up moving clubs and changing events. At the age of 16 I got my first England vest to represent England in the Schools International in the individual and relay.

When I was younger, I was a massive football fan. I watched it all the time with my brothers. One day I saw a player score a goal and do a somersault to celebrate, I thought to myself; wow, I wish I could do that. The next few weeks I drove my mum crazy cartwheeling and being upside down in the house so she took me to a gymnastics club, red bridge gymnastics club I was aged 6. The club talent identified me and told me to more to a better facilitated club called east London, I was here for...

I was doing cartwheels on the grass at my Primary School and the PE teacher saw me and asked me to come to the lunchtime Gymnastics Club. From there said to go to try out at Cray Valley as could see that I had potential which I did and I absolutely loved everything. I remained at this Club throughout the whole of my career and stayed with the same coach who is an incredible lady. Not only was a fantastic coach, but guided me and we are still great friends to this day....

My love for football developed when I was 5 years old, on the playgrounds at primary school. I would play at break, lunch and after school in my back garden. When it was so dark outside that I could no longer see I would come in and watch football on the TV, often England and dreaming that one day I would get the chance to represent my country. 16 years later, that dream finally came true earning my first cap at the 2016 World Cup in Italy, I went on to compete in the Deaflympics for Great Britain and earned 13 caps for my country before retiring aged 24.
