How I started
I’ve always been a fan of running! I used to run to the lamppost and back with my dad as a child. It was something I absolutely loved doing. I first attended a club at the age of 12 however in school. This was at the start of high school as I was introduced to a lot of different groups. I began to develop my skills in these groups and visited local events, it was always such a great time with everyone! I then took the stepping stone to national events and eventually becoming a professional sprinter at the age of 20. I am happy to say I have not looked back since!
My Greatest Achievement
My greatest achievement has to be the World Indoor Championships silver medal I won in 2010 it was my first international win, and it made me feel like all the work I had been putting in was worth it. I finally felt like a was at home on the world stage. This took a lot fo hard work though, I had to train relentlessly to get to this point and I was thrilled when it had all come together and blessed me with one of the best feelings on the entire world!
My Greatest Challenge
My greatest challenge has to be when I suffered a stress fracture in my back. This put a massive halt to my progress as an athlete. I had to stop all training and focus on mending myself. Throughout this period I was unable to do a lot of what I used to do, which meant I became much weaker than I was before the accident had happened. I had to alter the way I lived to mend myself. A lot of my recovery was focussed on my diet as this is the only thing you can really do to keep yourself in shape when you’re bound to your home each day. I also had to undergo a lot of physio to learn movements again after the accident. It was a long road to recovery, but I am so glad I stuck to my guns in order to overcome this massive obstacle!
My Hobbies
My hobbies include fitness, cooking, music and film! I love to keep fit even outside of my own profession, keeping fit and feeling great in myself is always my number one priority! Being able to feel great is such a fantastic feeling and it has been my key to a positive outlook for many years now! I love cooking too, being able to cook is such a great skill as it allows you to make great treats for yourself along with always having the knowledge to feed yourself, which is great for when you live alone! My favourite meal is fired chicken, but I can only have it on cheat days as it a big treat!
My Goals
My aim is to win the European 2022 championship.
