I began getting interested in athletics at the age of 9 when I went down to the local athletics club after being spotted by a coach at my primary school and my journey really began from there. I tried different athletic events including 100m and long jump but I feel in love with triple jump at the age of 17 when I filled in for another athlete at a midland league competition.
I began training and after two years i had topped the UK rankings at just 19 years old. I realised that I wanted to take the sport more seriously, so I began putting in the hard work and effort that would take me to where I am today. This has enabled me to become a 5x British Champion and earn myself a Commonwealth Game and World Junior silver medal. My ultimate dream is to attend the Olympic Games representing Team GB and hopefully bring back some more.
I my spare time I love to travel and visit new places, especially if it involves lying in the sun on a beach! I also cherish spending quality time with my family and friends.
Event Testimonial
'We had the most wonderful time when Laura was here with us, she was amazing!!!! The event was a massive success and we loved every moment!!! The pupils were really engaged with what Laura was telling them and they worked well on their exercise stations. I can definitely say it was a fantastic event and a huge success.'
Sarah from Stickney Primary School
'What a fantastic morning we had with our visiting athlete Laura Samuel (Triple Jumper). The event ran so smoothly and Laura was excellent with the children. Her assembly was particularly good and the children have still been talking about it today. At lunchtime the children usually play football but they asked for athletics events and games to be organised and they absolutely loved it. Laura was an inspiration and we would love the opportunity to work with you again in the future.' Danielle Lorraine and the staff at Wessington Primary School
