Chris Bennett has been in the sport of athletics since the age of 13. He first represented Scotland in 2006 firstly at the Schools International and then at the inaugural UK School Games in Glasgow the same year where he set a new Scottish Record while also winning the Gold Medal. In 2008 Chris broke the U20 Scottish Record
Chris has continued compete through the age groups and establishing himself in the rankings. Chris has travelled in widely throughout his career to compete and train. In 2014 at the Commonwealth Games in his home city of Glasgow Chris represented Scotland making it to the final. Through hard work and training Chris was chosen to represent Great Britain at the European Championships in Amsterdam in 2016 where he qualified for the final. He was then chosen to represent Great Britain at the Olympic Games in Rio which was a great honour as well as an opportunity to learn all about what it takes to compete at World Class Level.
In 2017 Chris competed at the World Championships in London for British Athletics and the following year he represented Scotland at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast in Australia.
