Anti-knife Crime Programme
Sports For Champions UK (CIC) visits children of all relevant ages to deliver a preventative education structure that will ensure their welfare amid an escalating national crisis. In March 2020 21,498 “knife related crimes” were reported in the UK alone (ref: GOV.UK), with tensions rising in many cities by the week.
It is critical to provide youth with a voice they know, a voice they already respect, to guide and inspire children as champions of tomorrow, rather than potential victims or criminals. In this case, prevention is clearly the only cure!
Sports For Champions UK (CIC) delivers an outstanding portfolio of professional athletes and Team GB Olympians to empower our anti-knife crime audience, featuring stars with relevant backgrounds to ensure a quality delivery of this high-impact programme. Let us talk real with your students about the law, gang life, the physical and mental risks that come with carrying a blade, as well as the impact of knife crime on families, and how getting involved with sport can create a new sense of community with opportunities beyond life on the streets surrounded by crime.
This leads us into a focused fitness session followed by a Q&A for participants with their athlete. A self-defence class will also be held by a former international martial arts champion and SFC Athlete, or other qualified personnel who he has endorsed.
Sport provides focus and a sense of responsibility for young people, which in turn enables them to gain new prospects and generate fresh social opportunities. Keep them involved and tell us your story @Sports4Champs #Sports4Champions
